With the current bird flu outbreak, it is a very worrying time however we are doing everything we can to mitigate it.
Location wise we are fortunate to be inland and high-up so not in close proximity to other outbreaks or areas heavily used by migrating birds. Having said that there are isolated cases that do pop up, but the probability is pretty low.
We have increased biosecurity on the farm and the birds are shut in their big straw bedded barns with lots of space, natural light and daily fresh straw. They love picking the new straw and helps keep them very busy. They are growing well and looking great.
All things going to plan our turkeys will be processed exactly the same as previous years, dry plucked, game hung and refrigerated in our professional set-up.
